News

Tar River Poetry is moving online! More of Spring 2025 is coming online, and we will be entirely online from Fall 2025. The journal will be free for all to read (we are no longer taking subscriptions but donations are always welcome; we will have the donation buttons back up soon). Current subscribers will be able to submit to the journal for free, with an expedited response time, for the duration of their subscription; after that, the normal submission fees will apply. Our reading periods will continue to be September and January.

The winners of TRP's first competition, sponsored by the North Carolina Museum of Art, have been announced on our Contest page. Thank you to the many who submitted to the contest. Authors will be reading their winning poems at the NCMA in Raleigh on Sunday, September 21st at 11am as part of the End Paper Art Book Fair. The event will be free and open to the public! We hope to see you there.
